On June 8, 932 Express Entry candidates were invited in the latest PNP draw to apply for Canadian permanent residence.

This draw by IRCC has only called up for the PNP candidates with a minimum score of 796 which is moderately high as PNP nomination fetches 600 points to the CRS.

Since March this new draw is considered to be the huge one as 1047 PNP candidates were invited from then, the before draw also called up only 589 candidates under the provincial nomination program (PNP) with a minimum score of 741.

Know about Express Entry

The three major Canada immigration programs have been managed through the Canada Express Entry Program –An application management system. The candidates in the express entry pool will be qualified for any one of the major programs and may also be invited for PNP.

The three immigration programs are the Canadian Experience Class, the Federal Skilled Worker Program, and the Federal Skilled Trades Program.

A point-based system is used by the express entry to qualify candidates based on ranks and scores which is generally termed the Comprehensive Ranking System CRS. On assessment with regard to the scores, high-scoring candidate profiles would be shortlisted and an Invite known as ITA (Invitation to apply) will be issued, after which an IRCC officer will make a decision on a thorough analysis and would demand biometrics of the applicant. If required he may also set up an interview or ask for additional supporting documents.

On approval, IRCC will issue the COPR- Confirmation of Permanent Residence, upon receiving this confirmation, the applicants can complete their landing process, supposing an applicant is outside Canada, and then they can opt for prior pre-landing guidance and post-landing services which would help in their settlement in Canada.

Know how Candidates are invited through PNP in the express entry draws

Example: Mr. Jam, aged 39 is a bachelor’s degree holder with 6 years of work experience as a construction manager; he was all good at the English language but has never been to Canada either to study or work. The score of 386 made him enter the express entry pool; soon the Alberta express entry stream invited her by giving a provincial nomination, now her new CRS score grew up to 986 which was more than enough to receive her ITA.

NOC 2021 has a new 6-category system which stands as a major change to the four-category “skill level “. This system is known as the TEER – Training, Education, Experience, and Responsibilities which are prime requirements to meet each occupation.

The older one had 4 skill levels which were represented like

NOC A –University degrees were required

NOC B – diploma was required

NOC C – intermediate skills or job-specific training were required

NOC D- On–the–job training was required

NOC 2021 has a 5-tier hierarchical system to categorize the occupations; the occupations will be denoted by a 5-digit codification system as a replacement for the previous one with a 4-digit system.

The TEER system has 6 categories to 0-to 5

Canada Statistics establishes two main reasons for changing the current skill type model to the TEER system

  1. To have more clarity on the education level and work experience to know if it meets the need to work in an occupation
  2. The TEER system would give a right awareness of the skills required for every occupation curbing the unnatural classification between low-and high-skilled jobs.
