The skilled Immigrants were finally invited by Canada in the draw conducted by IRCC on the 6th of July, 2022
IRCC has conducted draws for the major express entry programs as confirmed by the Immigration Minister at the Collision Conference, Toronto few weeks back.
Canada has taken a call for FSW and CEC candidates; the inclusion of CEC candidates in the Express Entry Draw has taken place after a long gap since September 2021, the draw invited candidates who had a minimum CRS cut–off score of 557.
Why the draw is considered so important and the news is the ‘talk of the town’ today?
The draw has a history base i.e. since the time from 1967, Canada has always chosen and welcomed skilled immigrants through the similar draws, and so after the stagnation due to the pandemic effect, the start over of such a draw is seen with paramount importance.
Also, before the huge hit of pandemic it is so evident that, Out of all the program, 45% of FSWP candidates were issued with an ITA.
The resume of the draw is a major turnaround for the CEC candidates as well, as this program stands out to be the prime way for the International students and the foreign workers of Canada to avail their permanent residence. Canada in the recent years has given much focus and relied more on these draws to achieve the targeted levels immigrants.
Before the pandemic, Out of the 3, 41,000 immigrants, the CEC candidates were about 9% over other economic, family and humanitarian classes. Last year 1/3rd of the immigrants who landed in Canada was through the CEC program.
The CIC news delivered out the statement from the Immigration minister, Sean Fraser that IRCC will be on track to resume back the draw for Express Entry on July 6, the same was also confirmed by the minister on Twitter this Monday. This announcement was made by IRCC back in April; this included the return of processing times for all the express entry applications to its usual standard of six months.
Previously, the all program draw happens to take place only when IRCC includes all the candidates in the Express Entry pool by their CRS scores and issues an ITA thereafter to apply for PR, this indicates that the candidates of FSWP, CEC, and the FSTP have all been getting ITA’s.
In the beginning of January 2021, the focus was for CEC candidates where IRCC easily invited candidates from Canada thus avoiding the COVID adversity. But this intake was paused back in September 2021 to address the backlogs of applications, by the time IRCC took a turn and conducted two draws on a weekly basis were it just invited PNP candidates to let the provinces and territories satisfy the needs of their labor market.
Working of Express Entry System
Express Entry involves a two-step process:
- Firstly the candidate has to meet the eligibility criteria for any one of the three express entry programs, on meeting so the eligible candidate will upload his/her profile in the express entry pool, The candidates then would receive CRS scores based on the certain qualifying factors such as age, education, language skills, and work experience.
- Secondly, IRCC will conduct draws for every two weeks and invite the candidates with high scores and issues ITA to apply for their permanent residence, thereafter the invited candidates will have 60 days to submit their applications to IRCC, from then IRCC will process the applications within 6 months or even in a lesser time frame.
