The August 3rd draw for the express entry Canada has opened gates for 2000 Candidates to apply for permanent residency and express entry is considered to be the most important gateway to enter Canada, especially for skilled workers.

The minimum CRS score for the draw was 533 and ITA’s were issued for the candidates accordingly

This was not a specific program draw and so both the CEC and FSWP candidates were all at the capacity to be invited.

While comparing the previous draw that was held on the 20th of July, the score requirement was 9 points lesser this time and moreover, 250 Candidates, in addition, have been issued with invitations as the previous draw invited only 1750 candidates.

After resuming the all-program draws on July 6, a total of 5250 candidates of the express entry has been received their invitations to apply for permanent residency whereas previously IRCC  (Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada)  had a hold on these draws for about 18 months and turned all of its focus to invited immigrants through the CEC (Canadian Experience Class) and PNP (Provincial Nominee Program).

Now, the Immigration target level plans of Canada through the Express Entry have decided to open doors for 55,900 Permanent residents, in 2022, and subsequently in the next two years by the end of 2024, the count may highly increase to a number of  1,11,500 immigrants.

Good Time For The PGWP Holders To Apply For a New Open Work Permit

Ever since the hold in the express entry draws for the CEC candidates in the period between September 2021 and July 2022, the PGWP holders encountered an expiry status, since the CEC draws also kept on hold they were unable to apply for a BGWP as well.

Now IRCC has shown a way by introducing a few special measures to make the PGWP holders extend their open work permit for about 18 months. So this planned measure could help the PGWP holders to continue working while they wait to process their PR applications.

Express Entry Candidates Are at Capacity And be Qualified For Distance Learning For a Short Time Now

Due to the Pandemic situation, in the past two years, the international students had no way to enter Canada to take up their studies and were all imposed to complete their education online to abide by the restrictions and regulations that were all strictly followed by the Canadian Government.

As an action step, IRCC has imposed a benefit to the students who have completed their Canadian Education only through the Online classes between March 2020 and August 2022 can now use the accreditations of the course and include them in their CRS score, which means they can consider and add on this education and level up to rise the CRS scores.

But this has to be treated as a temporary aiding measure since the pandemic restrictions are turning to a normal phase and are slowly eased out around the world.

The point to be noted here is that if the candidate has completed 50% of the education through the online classes, they will not be eligible for the CRS points in the block for Canadian/ International Education, but contrary to this if the Candidate has gained credentials for the study visa program (a Canadian degree, diploma or certificate) between March 2020 and August 2022, then you can be qualified for the points meant for Canadian education in the CRS score grid.

Also, note that the program has to be completed entirely through distance learning and from outside Canada or through part-time learning.

The express entry candidates might have received an update from IRCC directing them to upload the education information in the profile, this new letter will have three new questions a candidate has to necessarily answer else they would end up with a low CRS.

The questions look like how much time the –In-person study period, the full-time study period, and as such. Candidates to be eligible for the current draw are advised by IRCC to maintain the CRS scores by updating their profile by August 2.

What is Express Entry?

The key Immigration programs the Canadian Experience Class (CEC), the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), and the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP) are managed through a system known as Express Entry, an online application management system.

The PNP candidates will already have their profiles enrolled in the express entry and be qualified for any one of the key programs.

This application management system uses a point based known as the CRS Comprehensive Ranking System to invite candidates, the high-scoring candidates receive an ITA to apply for permanent residency.

On review of the application, IRCC makes a decision to ask for biometrics, and may call for an interview or may ask for submission of additional documents.

Above all the checks and reviews, on approval, the candidate will finally receive Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR) after which the landing procedures could be initiated and you will officially be a permanent resident of Canada.
