The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) continues to draw global attention by inviting talented professionals and entrepreneurs to contribute to the economy of the province. On October 2, 2025, British Columbia conducted two separate draws under its Skills Immigration and Entrepreneur immigration streams. This draw issued a total of 485 ITAs for provincial nomination.
Highlights of the BC PNP Draw
The October draw showcased BC’s ongoing efforts to meet labour market demands while encouraging entrepreneurial investment.
Immigration Category | Number of Invitations Issued | Cut-off Score |
Skills Immigration | 474 | 140 (for specific candidates) |
Entrepreneur Immigration – Base Stream | 11 | 123 |
So far in 2025, British Columbia has issued 568 invitations under the Skills Immigration stream and 86 under the Entrepreneur Immigration stream. This reinforces the commitment to attracting both skilled workers and business leaders.
Skills Immigration Draw
This draw marked the first skills immigration invitation draw of the province since May 8, 2025. This draw offers new opportunities for skilled workers across priority occupations. A total of 474 candidates were invited under two distinct selection criteria:
Selection Criteria | Eligibility Requirements | Number of Invitations Issued |
Criteria 1 | Minimum $90/hour wage or $175,000/year salary with a valid job offer under NOC TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3. | 114 |
Criteria 2 | Achieved a minimum score of 140 points based on the BC PNP candidate scoring system. | 360 |
The Skills immigration stream targets individuals with strong education, professional expertise, and employment offers in high-demand fields such as technology, healthcare, and skilled trades. The province prioritises applicants who can settle permanently and address the long-term workforce shortages.
As stated by the BC PNP, future draws may consider several factors, including education, professional designation, occupation, work experience, and regional settlement intent. Labour market priorities and participation in provincial pilot programs may also influence the selection process.
Entrepreneur Immigration Draw Supporting Business Innovation
Alongside the skilled worker invitations, British Columbia held its seventh Entrepreneur Immigration draw through the Base Stream, issuing 11 invitations with a cut-off score of 123. This stream focuses on attracting experienced entrepreneurs capable of investing in or expanding businesses that generate local employment.
To qualify, candidates were required to meet a minimum registration score of 115 and fulfill other eligibility conditions, including:
