Introduction
The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) has conducted five targeted draws on August 28, 2025. It aimed to issue a total of 468 invitations to Candidates under the employer's job offer streams. These draws focus on candidates with a proper job offer in the Specific Regional Economic Development through Immigration (REDI) Community and northern Ontario. After July 2, 2025, the eligible candidates were selected from the EOI (Expression of Interest) pool. Their employers had also provided a valid job offer through the employer Portal of OINP. The applicants highly targeted in this draw are:
Foreign workers International students In-demand skills, applicants with scores more than the set thresholds and job offers in the National Occupational Classification (NOC) codes.;
Draws in Northern Ontario;
In the Northern Ontario Draw, a total of 330 invitations were issued to candidates having a valid job offer in Northern Ontario. To qualify for this draw, the candidates must reside in Canada. Should also have a valid job offer in any of the northern Ontario Census divisions, such as Thunder Bay, Kenora, Muskoka, Sudbury and more. Candidates must also have Experience in one of over 100 eligible NOC occupations.
- 94 Invitations (53 is the minimum score)- Foreign Worker
- 236 Invitations (66 is the minimum score) - International students
Draws in the REDI pilot
The remaining 138 invitations were issued through the Immigration (REDI) Pilot under the Regional Economic Development. This is intended to attract talent to smaller Ontario communities in Grenville, Leeds, Lambton, and Lanark. The REDI invitations Breakdowns are:
- 94 invitations (45 is the minimum score) - Foreign worker stream
- 56 Invitations (68 is the minimum score)- International student stream
- 25 invitations (34 is the minimum score)- In-Demand Skills stream
The candidates who require REDI must meet the specific requirements of the Stream. The in-demand skills stream focuses mainly on some critical roles, such as Material handlers, support workers, processing Machine operators and construction labourers.
REDI is a one-year pilot that will run until December 31, 2025, delivering an accelerated pathway to Permanent residence for foreign individuals.
System of new EOI
The profiles created in Ontario’s new employer Expression of Interest (EOI) systems are considered under all Draws. These draws are scheduled to take place on July 2, 2025. Under this, the employers are responsible for submitting their job offers through the employer portal of ONIP. The Candidates with their employers, a Valid job offer, and registered EOUI through the portal are considered for these draws. Candidates with their EOI must have been created before July 2, 2025, and need to resubmit their interest under the new system while continuing to work with their employer.
