The Office of Immigration and Multiculturalism of Newfoundland and Labrador has issued ITAs. 202 ITAs were issued for provincial immigration through the Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Program and the Atlantic immigration Program. The latest draw was conducted on August 29, 2025. 125 ITAs were allocated to NLPNP candidates, and 77 invitations were extended to AIP candidates in this draw.
This draw follows two other recent draws of invitations, which indicate the continued commitment of the province to addressing the labour shortages and attracting skilled workers. The breakdown of invitations in the last three draws is given below.
Draw Date | Total ITAs | NLPNP ITAs | AIP ITAs |
July 29, 2025 | 150 | 100 | 50 |
August 13, 2025 | 231 | 180 | 51 |
August 29, 2025 | 202 | 125 | 77 |
Newfoundland and Labrador has been conducting two draws each month since May 2025. In these draws, the majority of invitations were distributed through the NLPNP stream. However, the province did not specify which particular streams within the NLPNP these invitations will be issued through.
ITA Eligibility and Requirements
Candidates who were interested in immigration to the province through the NLPNP or AIP must meet specific criteria. They should hold a valid job offer or employment from a designated employer in the province. Expression of Interest which matches the labour market needs of the province and aligns with the economic priorities is preferred.
The candidates selected under NLPNP will receive an email which notifies them of the ITA. After this, they can submit a completed application for provincial nominations. The candidates have to use their immigration accelerator portal account to submit their application.
For candidates under the AIP, designated employers will receive ITA notification through email and can access a confirmation letter through the same portal. The employer then applies to the province for endorsement of the job offer.
It is important to note that all the immigration candidates, except those who are already residing in Canada and applying through the NLPNP, will have to get an invite code from their employer before submitting the EOI.
Background and Future Outlook
The current provincial nomination allocation of the province stands at 2,525 spaces across both the NLPNP and AIP streams. Earlier this year, in February 2025, the provincial government announced an increase of 1,000 nomination spots. These spots help in meeting the rising labour demands.
While the AIP’s endorsement quota remains at 475, the province focuses on strengthening the immigration pathways, which reflects its long-term economic strategy. The NLPNP has fully transitioned to an EOI system, joining other Canadian provinces in a two-step process. This ensures a streamlined process in selecting the candidates and improves the application experience.
For skilled workers and job seekers, these invitations represent a significant opportunity to build a life in a supportive and growing community, while contributing to the workforce needs of the province.
