Subclass 417: Working Holiday Visa
This Australia working visa is designed for adults who wish to have an extended holiday and to work here to fund it or financially support it. The candidates must meet the basic eligibility criteria given below
- They must be 18 to 30 years old or in some countries, the age limit is 35 years old
- Candidates should have a passport from a qualified jurisdiction or country
- and the candidates need not be accompanied by dependent children.
There are 3 categories of Working visas included in Bridging Visas, those are
First Working Holiday visa
This visa allows people who have their first extended holiday in Australia and work to support and fund their trip for 12 months. It lets people who are from 18 to 30 years old to apply for this visa. With the help of this visa, the candidates can do short-term work in Australia to support pay for their holiday, study for up to 4 months, help them to travel to and from Australia at how any time they want, and they should be in specific work for 3 months to get eligible for a second working holiday visa.
Second Working Holiday visa
This visa enables candidates who currently hold, who have held, or who are working holiday visas to have a Working Holiday visa and a second working holiday in Australia to stay for another 12 months after the completion of 3 months of specific work. The candidates must be between 18 to 30 years old under this category. With the help of this visa you can do short-term work in Australia to support the pay for your holiday, study for up to 4 months, can travel several times to and from Australia, you have to do 6 months of specified subclass 417 work to become eligible for a third working holiday visa.
Third Working Holiday visa
This visa allows candidates from 18 to 30 years old, or 35 years old for some countries, who presently hold, or who have held a second working holiday visa, and who have a third working holiday in Australia. This visa lets the people who hold a Second Working Holiday Visa.
To reside in Australia for 12 months they have to complete 6 months of specified work.
The candidates must follow the following eligibility requirements to apply for all the 3 working holiday visas:
- You should have previously entered into Australia on a subclass 417 visa.
- You need to hold a passport from a qualified country or jurisdiction
- You must be between 18 to 30 years old or for some countries 35 years old to apply for this visa.
- You should have completed 3 months of specified subclass 417 work.
- Applicants should not go along with dependent children, and you need to apply by yourself and family members cannot be included.
- Under the First Working Holiday visa, if their Bridging Visa was permitted once after holding a substantive visa and leaving Australia, the candidates should apply for the First Working Holiday Visa from outside Australia.
Subclass 462: Work and Holiday Visa
Subclass 462: Work and Holiday Visa enables 18 to 30-year-old young adults from qualified countries to travel and work in Australia for an extended holiday. This visa differs from the Subclass 417: Working Holiday Visa because this visa is applicable for a separate list of countries and it has different eligibility requirements, like English language proficiency, and educational qualifications from some applicants.

First Work and Holiday visa
This visa allows people aged 18 to 30 years to holiday in Australia for 13 months at the time of working to support their stay in Australia. The cost for this will be AUD 650, and the applicants need to hold an eligible country’s passport. Candidates who have completed 3 months of specified work can be eligible for a second visa.
Second Work and Holiday visa
The Second Work and Holiday visa allows candidates from 18 to 30 years old who have a first 462 visa to reside in Australia for another 12 months. The applicants need to complete 3 months of specified work. Once the specified work is completed for 6 months, the candidates can qualify for a third visa.
Third Work and Holiday visa
This visa allows the applicants to take a second 462 visa to stay in Australia for another 12 months. The applicants need to complete 6 months of specific work. This visa allows Travel, study, and work for up to 4 months.
The Eligibility Criteria for Subclass 462: Work and Holiday Visa are as follows:
- The candidate must be 18 to 30 years old inclusive at the time of application.
- Under the Subclass 462 First Work and Holiday Visa, They should not be accompanied by dependent children at the time of their stay.
- The applicant must hold a passport from a qualified country of jurisdiction. This eligibility is applicable for first, second, and third work and holiday visas.
- Under the second work and holiday visa the candidates must have previously held a subclass 462 First Work and Holiday visa. And under Subclass 462 Third Work and Holiday Visa, the applicants must have previously held a Subclass 462 Second Work and Holiday visa.

- Under Subclass 462 First Work and Holiday Visa, applicants should have sufficient funds to support themselves and they must be in Australia on a substantive visa.
