There were 6 immigration based draws that were conducted by AAIP after February 26 till March.
The applicants got 1,400 invitations from the programs given below :
- Alberta Opportunity Stream
- Rural Renewal Stream
- Alberta Express Entry Stream: Priority Sectors pathway (focused on Health Care)
- Alberta Express Entry Stream: Accelerated Tech pathway
- Dedicated Health Care pathway: non-Express Entry.
In 2026, eighteen draws will take place by Alberta Opportunity Stream.
Draw details (February 26–March 16)
Almost 5 draws out of six, which was announced by AAIP held in March. The province focused more on these sectors :
- Rural immigration
- Tech-based workers
- Health care-based worker
In each draw, which was held, the following things always changed :

The first Express Entry draw of AAIP will happen on March 16, 2026. Its primary aim is on healthcare industry.
Provincial nomination numbers
For 2026, IRCC gave 6,403 nomination slots to Alberta.
Till March 17, only 1,127 slots were used by the province of Canada. But 5,276 more spaces are still available.
There are still 1,253 applications that have not been processed by AAIP and is in waiting list for all programs and pathways.
For the 18 draws that are going to happen, there is 3,956 invites sent for applicants to apply.

Most of the nominations this year will be issued through the Alberta Opportunity Stream, making up 53.5 percent of the total.
Applications and profiles waiting for processing
Alberta has some important data information for each program. The data has the following details:
- Number of people on the waiting list in the selection pool
- Number of applications to be processed
These data get updated regularly.
There were 43,871 workers’ profiles available in the selection pool as of March 17, 2026. This does not include business program categories.
So, out of this 63.7%, people are from the Alberta Opportunity Stream.
The number of applications yet to be processed is 1,251 for all programs and most of them are in the Alberta Opportunity Stream.
