On 7 August 2025, 1000 Canadian Experience class candidates are invited by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada from the latest Express Entry draw to apply for Permanent residency. This draw is only for the skilled individuals with Canadian work experience, which reflects IRCC’s continuous commitment to securing skilled immigrants holding a valid stay and career in the country. The minimum comprehensive ranking system score for this draw is 534; the eligible individuals must have submitted their application for Express Entry before 3 August 2025 at 6:22 am. This draw has become a competitive stage where the Canadian Immigration has been more selective when compared to previous CEC draws.
This is the second draw being conducted in August, where the same targeted selection is applied. Same like this, just a day before on 6 August 2025, IRCC invited 225 candidates through the Provincial Nominee Program. The minimum cut-off score for the draw is 739, which has dipped from the previous PNP draw, which had the minimum cut-off as 788. The month of July is attested for draws, where multiple draws have been conducted. IRCC have conducted a large-scale CEC draw in July, issuing 3000 invitations with a lower CRS score of 518. The large-scale invitations with the highest CRS score for the latest CEC draw reflect Canada’s approach to give priority to skilled workers to meet the economic needs. This led to the growing competition among the candidates for the selective approach by IRCC. The candidates with a high score profile meeting the factors like high language proficiency, years of work experience receive the ITAs.
So far in 2025, a total of 50,628 invitations have been issued by IRCC for various Express Entry categories. This year has concentrated more on the Provincial Nominee program, where the candidates are selected from 14 PNP-specific provinces through the rounds conducted. But compared to earlier years, CEC has received fewer applications for this year. Only 8 CEC draws have been conducted, which indicates that there is a need for retaining Canada’s immigrant skilled experienced workers. We can see that it draws on French-language proficiency has also been conducted for 3 rounds. Other draws are conducted for healthcare and social services for the three sounds respectively. And finally, one round has been conducted for the education draw. IRCC priorities draws based on evolving economic needs and labour market demand in Canada.
But overall, to date 7 August 2025 draw highlights the importance of maintaining a consistent high CRS score to get selected in the Express Entry profile. Candidates must focus on factors like language scores. Work experience, and also additional factors like age and education. Candidates who are aiming for the CEC draw should maintain to date, consistent profile with their recent accomplishments. They also must keep track of the IRCC updates to know the pattern and utilise the PNP draws to secure a high score. IRCC targets candidates with high profiles to meet the Canadian economic needs, which will continue in the years to come.
