What is the Manitoba International Education Stream?

The International Education Stream (IES) offers a faster pathway for international students who are graduating from selected post-secondary institutions of Manitoba. The Skilled Worker in Manitoba Stream may also qualify graduates, even though this pathway is intended for foreign graduates from post-secondary schools in Manitoba.

The pathways under this stream are:

  1. Career Employment Pathway:

This pathway provides quicker nomination for the post-secondary students who pursue their graduation and are looking for employment in Manitoba for a longer period in a career that matches their training and is in demand. If the applicant meets these criteria, and completes their graduation and obtains a job offer, then they are eligible to apply to MPNP.

  2. Graduate Internship Pathway:

This Graduate Internship Pathway is created for international students who are master's and doctoral graduates. This pathway provides a faster nomination for international students and helps them to contribute to the industry innovation in Manitoba through internships. If they graduate from another province of Canada or they are not employed in an in-demand industry, then they may qualify to apply under the Skilled Worker in Manitoba Pathway.

  3. International Student Entrepreneur Pilot:

Up to 20 international graduates in Manitoba are permitted to pursue entrepreneurship rather than employment each year under the International Student Entrepreneur Pilot (ISEP). Once the candidates meet the terms and conditions of a Business Performance Agreement, then they are nominated for permanent residence. Before applying for PR, the interested candidates need to register and attend an information session. Graduates from other provinces in Canada can apply through the Business Investor Stream of the Entrepreneur Pathway.
