International Skilled Worker: Employment Offer Sub-Category

The International Skilled Worker is a sub-category for people who want to work in Saskatchewan under the occupation of skilled workers. As per Canadian PR requirements, skilled workers would be offered jobs by the Saskatchewan immigration to uplift the area’s economy. 

It is an excellent opportunity for people who want to work in Saskatchewan and make a better living for themselves. There are specific employment requirements for availing of work under this sub-category. They are as follows:

  • Applicants must have a minimum score of 60 points on the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program points assessment grid. This assessment is a tool to evaluate skilled and experienced workers in high-demand occupations under the regulations of Saskatchewan immigration.
  • All applicants must have at least one year’s experience in the last ten years of the occupation they intend to choose.
  • Workers who want to avail Employment Offer Sub-Category must have a language score of at least CLB 4. In some cases, employers might ask for a higher score depending on the occupation. As per Canadian PR requirements, every applicant needs a valid score on the Canadian Language Benchmarks for qualifying to work in the country.
  • Applicants must also have a license in Saskatchewan in the area where their job is regulated. For people working under a skilled trade, a certificate from the Saskatchewan Apprenticeship and Trade Certification Commission is required. 
  • Applicants must also have a permanent offer of full-time employment in Saskatchewan.
  • A valid SINP approval letter is also a mandatory requirement by employers from the workers.
  • Applicants’ job offers must be under a designated trade or NOC A, B, 0 as per the regulations of Saskatchewan immigration.

Saskatchewan Hard-To-Fill Skills Pilot

People and workers who have experience working in low-skilled and intermediate-skilled occupations can apply for Saskatchewan immigration through the Saskatchewan Hard-To-Fill Skills Pilot. It is a field of the SINP which allows workers from outside of Canada to enter the country and work as skilled professionals. The following are the requirements of every candidate who applies for the position: 

  • A full-time and permanent job offer is a must. Also, candidates need a job approval letter from SINP for an eligible occupation by a registered Saskatchewan employer.
  • All candidates must meet a minimum score requirement on the Canadian Official Language proficiency test, conducted as a part of the Canadian PR requirements.
  • Candidates must have one-year work experience in the same occupation or six months of work experience in that occupation in Saskatchewan.
