Prince Edward Island Prioritizes International Graduates in Latest Immigration Draw

Prince Edward Island conducted the latest selection round on February 19, 2026. It took place under the PEI Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP). The draw followed the province’s expected Invitation to Apply (ITA) schedule.

The latest draw was similar to the earlier draws held this year. The province gave importance to the applicants who had more strong connection with PEI. It also considered those jobs that matched the province’s priority sectors, which supported economic growth. Special attention was also given to international graduates from selected designated learning institutions (DLIs).

Draw results

In the latest Prince Edward Island draw, 109 provincial nominee candidates received invitations through the Labour Impact and Express Entry pathways.

The invitations from the province were sent to those people who do jobs to contribute to the province's economic growth. These jobs are available in areas where there are not enough workers.

Based on the PEI Office of Immigration, these areas include :

  • Healthcare
  • Skilled trades
  • Manufacturing industries
  • Other industries that need more workers right now.

International students from the following designated learning institutions (DLIs) were given more priority:

  • University of Prince Edward Island
  • Holland College
  • Collège de l’Île

The province also noted that candidates working in sales and service jobs may not receive invitations at this time.

When Will the Next Prince Edward Island Draw Take Place?

If PEI goes in accordance with the planned schedule, then the upcoming draw could be expected to happen on March 19 and April 16, 2026.

But the province has also clarified that these dates are only tentative and are meant for general information. They have not confirmed that the selections or processing will occur exactly on those dates.

Using PEI’s Online Tool to Select the Correct Workforce Stream

The newly arrived people who are interested in moving to Prince Edward Island can start by using the province’s Workforce Program Selector Tool.

This is an online tool that works like a short survey. It helps every individual to learn about which PEI workforce immigration stream they may be eligible for, based on the province’s current program rules. This can be done by coordinating with the tool, which asks questions like :

  • Age
  • Education
  • Work experience
  • Current job offer (if any)

The province also clarifies that this tool can only be used for guidance. It provides a basic idea of which type of stream can be suitable, whereas it does not guarantee eligibility.

PEI helps in recommending the following steps for new people:

  • First, complete the selector tool to see which workforce streams match the profile.
  • Then, carefully review the official requirements in PEI’s Workforce Application Guide before submitting an Expression of Interest (EOI) or a full application.
