PNP Express Entry Draw News May 12

Draw for latest PNP Express Entry scheduled for May 12 Review CRS score cut-off, invited provinces, and candidate count chosen for Canada's most recent immigration round.

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) issued 511 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) solely to candidates under the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) following its 346th Express Entry draw on May 12, 2025. Setting a cut-off score of 706 for this draw, the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) reflects the great competitiveness of PNP-specific rounds. Per the tie-breaking rule, qualified candidates had to have created their Express Entry profiles before 10:35 p.m. UTC on March 4, 2025.

Key Highlights from the May 12 Draw

  • Draw Type: Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)
  • Number of ITAs Issued: 511
  • CRS Cut-off score: 706
  • Profile Submission Deadline: March 4, 2025, at 10:35 p.m. UTC.

This draw marks the third Express Entry round scheduled for May 2025. IRCC earlier in the month issued 500 ITAs in the Healthcare & Social Services-category draw on May 2 (CRS 510) and 1,000 ITAs in the Education-category draw on May 1 (CRS 479).

2025 Express Entry: An overview

IRCC has thus far in 2025 extended 33,940 ITAs through the Express Entry system. Mostly preferred in draws are:

  • Program for Provincial Nominees: 8 draws
  • Canadian Experience Class (CEC): 3 draws
  • French-Language Proficiency: 3 draws
  • Education: 1 draw
  • Social Services & Healthcare: 1 draw

Why Do PNP Candidates Score More?

Candidates nominated by a province automatically get 600 more CRS points, so virtually ensuring an ITA given they satisfy the nomination requirements. This sharpens their competitive edge, particularly in category-based draws aiming at particular financial targets.

What this means for Candidates?

Provincial nominations are still the fastest path to a high CRS score for qualified professionals seeking Canadian permanent residency. Working with a seasoned immigration consultant can help simplify matters, even if the cut-off in PNP draws is always above 700.
