Ontario Issues Over 1100 Immigration Invitations after Two-Month Pause

Good sign indeed! On December 10, 2025, Ontario sent out a total of 1,133 Invitations to Apply for provincial nominations. For the last two months, no invitations have been issued, so this is great news for applicants.

These invitations covered three different immigration streams within the Ontario Provincial Nominee Program. These invitations were primarily sent to healthcare workers and early childhood educators who were considered priority workers. Also, candidates who may qualify for the Regional Economic Development through Immigration pilot.

Lets Have a Quick Glance!

• The international student stream is open to students from all over the world who have a skilled job offer. No prior work experience needed to use this stream. Eligible for Permanent Residency.
• The Foreign Worker Stream is for those who have a job offer in a skilled profession. 
• In-Demand Skills Stream issued only 14 invitations to apply. This is specific to the REDI pilot and required a minimum score of 30. This stream targets difficult-to-fill job roles such as construction, farming, and personal support work. 

What is Ontario’s Future Plan? 

The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program will have major updates in the future. The changes are still in discussion; we will update further in the near future. Anyway, this plan has two phases:

1. Phase One: Combine all the above three current employee job offer streams into just one stream. 
2. Phase Two: Get rid of all other existing streams and introduce three new specialized categories: a priority healthcare stream, an entrepreneur stream, and an exceptional talent stream
