What is the Newfoundland International Graduate Stream?

The Newfoundland International Graduate Stream is a part of the Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Program known as the NLPNP. This stream allows recent graduates from eligible institutions to apply for permanent residency in Canada. For this, the applicant should have a valid job offer from an employer in Newfoundland and Labrador.

Educational Qualifications

The applicant should have completed their graduation from a recognized post-secondary institution in Canada. The applicant should have done a program for at least one year. They should also have completed their studies within the last two years before applying.

Job Offer Requirement

The applicant should have a full-time and permanent job offer from an employer in Newfoundland and Labrador. The job possessed should be related to their field of study. The job should be classified under NOC TEER 0,1,2,3 or a select TEER 4 occupation.

Work Permit Requirement

The applicant should hold a valid Post-Graduation Work Permit.

Language Proficiency

If the job of the applicant falls under NOC TEER 0,1,2 or 3, the applicant need not provide proof of language proficiency. But if the job is under TEER 4, they should demonstrate a minimum CLB score of 4 in a valid French or English language test.

Settlement Intent

The applicant should show genuine intent to settle and work in Newfoundland and Labrador.

Sufficient Financial Resources

The applicant should have enough funds to support themselves and their dependants during the initial settlement period.

Application Process for Newfoundland International Graduate Stream

Processing Time & Fees

The processing time for the Newfoundland International Graduate stream varies depending on individual cases and the application volume. Usually, the processing time for provincial nomination is 2-6 months. The PR process will be done through IRCC which will take an additional 6-12 months.

The application fee for the NLPNP nomination is not required. For the IRCC PR application, an approximate amount of $1.365 will be charged for a single applicant.
